Anxiety

Ever since I moved to Germany, I have been taking a lot of exams, from language proficiency test to a random boating licence assessment.

Normally before the exam, I get so anxious. It leads to two possibilities:

  1. I can’t study since I am too anxious. Therefore I procrastinate until last minute, which makes me even more anxious.
  2. I study like crazy while still feeling anxious on the same time.

It is never a fun ride. I realize that this anxiety comes from my obsession on the outcome. I get so caught up in controlling the result which makes me suffer during the process.

Of course, it is easier to control the outcome of an exam. I always pass by the end of the day.

However, life does not work that way. I can only make the most of out it when I focus to enjoy the process and detach myself from the result.
